Once again we are busy with the preparation and planning for the Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes in May. Catholics in England and Wales have been urged to make the plight of Christians in the Holy Land an issue at the forthcoming General Election.
On 2nd August our parish went on pilgrimage to Harvington Hall. A tour of the Hall was followed by Latin Sung Low Mass at the neighbouring parish church of St. Mary’s. A wonderful day was had by all, the guides bringing the history of the Hall to life and many thanks for the wonderful hospitality of Monsignor Moran, Columb & Merryn Howell and June Hall from the Latin Mass Society, Worcestershire Branch. Latin Mass is celebrated every first Sunday of the month at St. Mary’s at 3:00pm which combined with the history of the Hall makes the whole experience very poignant.
Following the first Diocesan Pilgrimage to the Holy Land in October last year, led by Archbishop Vincent, the second one takes place from September 23rd to October 2nd. This year over 50 pilgrims will be lead by Bishop William Kenney. Once again, pilgrims from our Diocese join in an experience that has been the goal of millions of Christians throughout the centuries, to walk in the footsteps of the Patriarchs, the Prophets and of Jesus.
