Archbishop Vincent Nichols, the 11th Archbishop of Westminster launched his new book St John Fisher, Bishop and Theologian in Reformation and Controversy, in the Throne Room at Archbishop's House, Westminster, on Wednesday 23 November 2011.

 

The Nativity Trail, the traditional story of Christmas as depicted by artists over 500 years, was warmly commended by the Most Reverend Bernard Longley, Archbishop of Birmingham, during the official launch, at Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery, on Tuesday 29 November.

Oscott College, as many will know, is dedicated to Our Lady using the title ‘St Mary’ according to the old English custom.

On Friday 28 October a Mass of Thanksgiving was held at St Mary’s Chapel, Oscott College, to mark the work and retirement of Kevin Caffrey after 20 years service as Director of Father Hudson’s Society.

‘Words Most Wonderful’ - a North Staffordshire Deanery event to mark the first anniversary of Pope Benedict’s visit to England, took place in Holy Trinity Parish, Newcastle-under-Lyme on Saturday 17 September.

Archbishop Bernard Longley, the Archbishop of Birmingham, joined Bishop John Inge, the Anglican Bishop of Worcester, in a joint ‘Big Bible Study’, held in Worcester Cathedral on 24 September, as part of the celebrations to mark the 400th Anniversary of the King James Bible. Archbishop Bernard Longley, Archbishop of Birmingham, was the Principal Celebrant and Preacher at Mass during the annual pilgrimage to the Shrine of the English Martyrs at Harvington Hall, Kidderminster, Worcestershire, on Sunday 4 September.
